Lambda Sigma Upsilon

We the brother of Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity Inc. hold a commitment to HIV/AIDS awareness; driven by the belief that education, early detection, and compassion can change lives.

Through our philanthropy, we support research, raise funds, and break the stigma surrounding HIV, empowering communities to take action in the fight against this global health issue.

Since our founding on April 5, 1979, our brotherhood has been deeply committed to community service and philanthropy.

In June 1989, we suffered a heartbreaking loss when Alberto Rivera, one of our 20 founding fathers, passed away due to complications from HIV/AIDS. In his memory, our brothers made the unanimous decision to make HIV/AIDS research & awareness our national philanthropy.

At the time, our brotherhood consisted of just 129 members in New Jersey. Still, Alberto’s passing ignited a tradition that continues today — a shared mission to fight HIV/AIDS and support those affected.
